I also drive the stretch from near Coolville, and while I always see a few hotdogs who are speeding, I also see Sheriff's cruisers, State Forestry cars, ODOT trucks and Highway Patrol officers periodically... not regularly, but often, on various days. If there IS a problem on the two-lane portion of Route 7, it should be called to their attention for increased patrols. Would you feel better with speed traps and cars hidden alongside of the roadway? I think not. But, they will respond to citizen requests to patrol. Last weekend, we saw a drunk pass us at 75 and used a cell phone to call it in. Within ten miles, we saw the Highway Patrol had pulled the car over: Thank you, officers!

My husband and I travel to Parkersburg 3 times weekly. It is so scarey. The other drivers will pass you when there is oncoming traffic, drive right on you rear bumper, where as if you had to stop suddenly, they would drive right into you. It's even worse on the 4-lane. Everyone seems to think it's interstate and the speed limit is 70 or higher. The State Patrol need to patrol that section of highway more. We very seldom see any patrol cars when we're traveling.
