Money is coming in for a historic Washington County bridge.

On Tuesday, county commissioners signed an agreement that says federal funding of more than $800,000 will be used to rebuild the Rhinard covered bridge.

Parts of the bridge were washed away in past floods; however, some of the original tresses were recovered.

Commissioner John Grimes says covered bridges are historically significant for Washington County and the Rhinard bridge is a great tourist draw for that end of the county

A few weeks ago, commissioners signed an agreement that allows $41,000 to come from the local fund in order to pay for the engineering.
