Vienna, W.V. (AP) -- An 11-year-old West Virginia boy has been selected as a National Epilepsy Spokesperson.

Aaron Brownfield is expected to travel to Washington, D.C., on April 1 to gain congressional support for restoring the Americans with Disabilities Act.

The Vienna youth also will seek support for Epilepsy public health programs and more research toward a cure.

Epilepsy foundation president Eric Hargis says Aaron is an ideal candidate because of his desire to achieve his goals despite his challenges.

Aaron is one of 50 children between the ages of 7 and 16 with epilepsy participating in the national Kids Speak up! Campaign.

I am proud to say that I know the Brownfield family. I have been friend with Aaron's grandma for more years than I would like to say.. but I can say that it is very courageous for a 11 year old boy to do what Aaron is doing. Im sure times have been hard for him but he is surely someone we should all look to for strength. May God Bless and keep him strong to complete what he needs to do.

Aaron Brownfield is my grandson and I am very very proud of him for being so brave when there we're times that I am sure that was very hard. I will be supporting him all the way when he goes and speaks up for himself and so many others.. Good Luck sweetheart... Love you Grandma and Marty

It'd be nice for them to find a cure, although if they ever do I doubt I would be able to afford it.
