Belpre fire officials say around 3 p.m. Monday, a trailer carrying six horses got too close to the edge of Braun Road and flipped over down the hill.
Five of the horses were running around upset after the accident, the sixth was found laying in the trailer and originally thought to be dead.
"It wasn't even injured. It was the way it was laying in the trailer. It was laying right down in the corner with it's back against the corner. It just couldn't get up," says Belpre Fire Chief Wesley Walker.
Part of Braun Road was closed for more than an hour as the horses were being rounded up.
Officials say it's unlikely any charges will be brought against the driver.
