All week long, some local college students are paying special tribute to U.S. soldiers serving overseas.

West Virginia University at Parkersburg's Student Government Association is sponsoring "Support Our Troops" week.

The kick-off ceremony was held Monday morning, featuring the dedication of a new university flag and flag pole. Organizers say they want to show the local community students care about military relations.

On Wednesday, all four branches of the military will be on campus. In addition to showcasing a Blackhawk helicopter and a Humvee, the group will host a combat demonstration.

Wednesday's activities are free and open to the public.
