A House lawmaker says the scandal-plagued Ohio Attorney General has offered to resign if the investigation against him is delayed.
Representative Robert Hagan says Attorney General Marc Dann wanted a bill allowing the state watchdog to investigate his office to take effect in 90 days.
But Hagan says Republican leaders in the House and Senate refused to remove a measure under which the bill will take effect as soon as Governor Ted Strickland signs it.
Both the House and Senate approved the bill Tuesday.
Also Tuesday, State House Democrats filed articles of impeachment against Dann.
