One family is mourning Friday after an accident near Evans Thursday killed a 24-year-old man.

Deputies with the Mason County Sheriff's Department say around 4:30 Thursday afternoon Leo B. Shaw of Point Pleasant was traveling east on Route 1 when he lost control of his vehicle.

Deputies say the car ran off the roadway, hit an embankment and then hit a tree causing the vehicle to overturn near Spruce Run Road in Evans.

The Mason County Sheriff's Department is investigating the accident.
