Charleston, W.V. (AP) -- Skateboarders in Ronceverte and swimmers in Williamstown are the big winners in the latest round of Conservation Grants.

Ronceverte and Williamstown will each receive $100,000 for projects designed to improve the quality of life for residents in both communities.

Ronceverte will use its money for phase 2 of its skateboard park. Williamstown's money will help design and fund a new swimming complex.

The city of New Martinsville also received $20,000 to build a new picnic shelter and storage building at the city's Bruce Park.

The three grants were announced by Gov. Joe Manchin.

Ronceverte is getting $100,000 for a skate park? Are you serious? Why not Charleston?

Wow.....$ 100,000.00 for Williamstown, but where's the pool? The hole was dug about a month ago, but nothing more has been done to speak of since then. We've got a big hole filling up with muddy water. Mayor Ford got re-elected because she said the pool was her project, she wanted to see it finished while she was Mayor and that the kids in town would be swimming in it this summer. At this rate....I don't think so. It's amazing what our government leaders will say and promise in order to get a vote or two. What our city really needs is money to fix storm drains and repair streets. Come on city council, please get your priorities straight.
