Hundreds of Wood County youngsters are getting checked from head to toe Tuesday.

Children from birth to 4-years-old can get a free screening at WVU-P until 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon.

Developmental, hearing, speech and a full physical are just a few of the many health screenings offered at the event.

Organizers say not only is the clinic beneficial for students who need physicals before next school year but it also helps with early detection.

"It's important that we complete these kinds of screenings because if there is an issue then we can address those needs and hopefully have a positive outcome because the earlier you start the more success you can have," says Wood County School's Health Coordinator Teresa Bayer.

Bayer says Tuesday's clinic can save parents up to three hundred dollars per child.
