The Humane Society of the Ohio Valley has a lot to be proud of!

Hundreds of thousands of points were gathered by supporters online for a Million Dollar Makeover Contest on zootoo.com.

They came in second place out of more than 900 shelters nationwide on national tv.

But before the big announcement Wednesday on the Mike and Juliet Show, about a dozen animal lovers gathered at the Harmar Tavern to share the anticipation and celebrate a wave of change for the shelter.

Cheryl Byers represented the Marietta Shelter on the Mike and Juliet show Wednesday morning.

The $20,000 second prize brings the shelter to $31,000 in donations and ZooToo winnings.

A shelter from St. Louis won the one million dollar prize.
