The American Cancer Society's Fight Back Express bus is traveling across the country on it's way to Washington, DC for election day this November and Saturday it made a stop in Parkersburg, St. Marys, and Ritchie County.
Dozens of cancer survivors, patients, caregivers, and community members gathered outside Camden Clark Memorial Hospital to sign the bus and support the fight against cancer.
Access to health care is another issue the bus is trying to raise awareness about.
"We want our legislators to take into consideration that access to care is an important factor. We want everyone to be able to afford health care and with cancer at the high rate it is in this area in particular we want it to be accessible to all people," said American Cancer Society volunteer Josie Evans.
West Virginia House of Delegates member, District 10 Delegate Dan Poling, spoke about his support for the cause.
From Parkersburg, the bus traveled on to St. Marys Saturday afternoon and then the Ritchie County Relay for Life.
The bus is part of the ACS Cancer Action Network Effort. The bus is on a 48 state tour and it kicked it off in Ohio in May.
