"Turkey, ham, dressing, well, the dressing that was the best part. "
The list goes on.
Beth LePor is just one of many hitting the gym Friday, after filling up on turkey day treats. However, LePor's got the right idea.
"I was here Wednesday, but I didn't come yesterday, so I came today. I work out every other day."
A constant workout schedule is the key to staying trim this holiday season.
A fitness expert says a lot of calorie counters will come in the day after Thanksgiving or Christmas expecting to shed the mashed potatoes and stuffing in just one visit.
Carol Pabst says "You can't just spot reduce. That's what people think, that they can exercise for two weeks and stockpile for six months. Working out is a lifestyle change; you have to do it every day."
Pabst says those feeling guilty after Thursday's intake should start eating healthy this weekend. She says the biggest thing is to simply get up!
"Move! Get out and move, exercise; the body wasn't made just to sit still. It's made to get out and move around. It feels so much better."
Every body is different, and Pabst says a certain amount of time on the treadmill isn't necessarily going to erase what you ate for dinner.
"The thing is to get into it where your heart beats faster, you're breathing heavier, you're utilizing more oxygen and working muscles. A lot depends on the individual and how much they put into it."
LePor says Friday's workout was like any other, but it did feel good after the Thanksgiving meal.
"Absolutely, if I don't work out, I feel like a slug."
