Williamstown High School officially has a new principal.

Tuesday, the Wood County Board of Education officially approved Pat Peters as the new principal.

Peters was the Assistant Principal at the High School.

Peters is replacing Principal Jack Mental who retired after three years.

Several board members spoke up at the meeting and said Peters is a great choice for the position.

Congratulations Mr Peters! You will do a fabulous job as you always have done. I am grateful to have you as our new principal. You have already made a great difference to our school. Thank you and your wonderful wife for all you do to make a difference in the lives of students and staff!

I am very pleased to know my kids will be attending a school that will be ran by a great community leader who takes pride in his students at Williamstown High. I am very proud of you Pat and look forward working with you in our great community.

Congratulations to WHS, and all future students. Good riddance to Jack Mental, who seemingly single handedly destroyed the previous pride in the local school. GOODBYE!

WOW.the best news I have heard in a long time. Pat Peters principal at Williamstown High School. He is one of the most respected people in Williamston, not only by the people but the student. You will see a great change in the attitude of the students. There test scores will be higher. a happy child will do better in school also a child that respectes his or her teacher and principal which they will and do will comeout on top.Congratulations Pat !!
