Authorities say a man with a forged prescription posed as a Caldwell cop. Now he is in jail.

Washington County deputies say Charles Schmidt altered a prescription for Fioricet in an attempt to get Vicodin.

When officers arrived at the New Matamoras pharmacy, the 26-year-old said he was an officer from Caldwell.

Schmidt has been charged with illegal processing of drug documents and impersonating a police officer.

He is being held in the Washington County Jail.
