Starting Tuesday, WVU at Parkersburg will have a new governance structure.

The decision to include WVU-P in a statewide network of independently accredited community colleges was made this spring.

Under the new structure, WVU-P will be governed by a local board of governors who will replace the present board of advisors.

The new board will be named by Governor Joe Manchin and WVU-P will continue its association with West Virginia University.

President Marie Foster Gnage says the school's focus is to maximize the quality of educational opportunities available in the Mid Ohio Valley.

I know that Dr. Gnage will pick a well rounded board to represent WVU-P's best interest. I know that WVU-P will not have the problems that WVU has. If you want a great education, affordable and close to home....West Virginia University at Parkersburg.
