While C-8 and DuPont have been a concern for the past few years, another plant has concerned Washington County residents for decades.
People who attended a meeting of the group Neighbors for Clean Air Thursday night were told that speaking with one voice is the best way to get their concerns noticed.
Many of those individuals live near the Eramet plant along Ohio Route 7, and have for years complained about the pollutants released by the metals manufacturer.
"It's quite intense," says Keith Bailey, who lives in Pinehurst, about four miles from the plant. "Especially if it's a calm night, we seem to be worse for some reason. Nights, weekends, when the wind is out of the south, it blows the stench right toward us."
Eramet says it complies with E.P.A. emissions standards, but Bailey says the problem recently has only gotten worse.
