The Wood County Republican Executive Committee finalized their plans for the interstate Fair tonight.

During the hour long meeting, the Executive Committee heard from the Republican Candidate for Governor, Russ Weeks.

Weeks outlined his background for the voters and described Wood County as the backbone of the state, the largest county with the greatest population in West Virginia.

He also identified his priorities for the voters.

"The theme of what I want to do is a very interesting concept, that I hope that we try here in West Virginia," explains candidate Russ Weeks. "I want to restore your faith and confidence in your government."

The committee finalized plans for their "Red, White and Blue Picnic" this Saturday in City Park, open to the public with games and entertainment for the kids.

The Wood County Republicans are also looking for a Headquarters to rent, starting September 1 for two months and two days, until the election.
