A Gallia County woman is dead after the motorcycle she was riding on Sunday, struck a deer.

Mary Jo Blair was riding passenger on a motorcycle driven by James Plants, they were heading north on State Route 7, near Crown City, Ohio, when a deer jumped out on the roadway.

Plants veered the motorcycle off the right side of the road, but hit a guard rail.

Mary Jo Blair struck the guard rail, she was pronounced dead at the scene. Plants was transported to St. Marys Hospital and has extensive injuries.
