Clean air advocates are in town sweeping the valley air for toxic chemicals.

Leaders of Ohio Citizen Action are using a UV ray monitor to suck in outside air and detect chemical gases.

Tuesday afternoon, the group set up near the Eramet facilities on State Route Seven.

Ammonia was immediately found, which the group says is common in an industrial area.

They chose the area after several residents were complaining of odors in the air.

They say they'll continue to monitor the area for a couple of months with the hope that companies and the Ohio EPA will purchase their own machines to monitor the chemical levels.
