Fairmont, W.Va. (Ap) -- The names of two brothers who drowned at Valley Falls State Park have been released.

Marion County Sheriff's Department Detective Shawn Mathews says 29-year-old Luis Cleofas was jumping from rock to rock across the falls on the Tygart Valley River on Tuesday when he fell 15 to 20 feet into the water. Twenty-six-year-old Victor Cleofas jumped in to try to save his brother but was overcome by a strong undertow.

The brothers were from Macuila in the state of Hidalgo in Mexico and were in the U.S. on work visas.

Both were cooks at a Fairmont Restaurant.

Victor Cleofas had worked there for three years. Luis Cleofas had moved to the area with his wife and son from Washington State three weeks ago.
