A Waverly man won't go to jail but he will have to pay fines for starving and neglecting his horses.

We want to warn you, some of the photos of the animals are graphic.

Police say 50-year-old Dana Persinger neglected seven horses so horribly, one died because of the lack of care.

The remaining six were 2 to 3-hundred pounds underweight and worm infested at the time of their rescue.

Persinger pled guilty Tueday to one count of animal crulity.

He'll be prohibited from having horses or livestock for the next five years and will have to pay more than $600 in fines.

The six horses were nursed back to health thanks to the Parkersburg Humane Society and have since been adopted.
