Night workers at a local plant were faced with an emergency situation Monday after a fire broke out in the facility's north side.

It happened Monday around 11:45pm at Eramet Marietta.

A plant spokeswoman says the fire broke out in a holding hopper, which is a cylindrical holding vessel.

Briquettes, which are powder forms made up of aluminum and other materials are stored in the holding hopper just before they are bagged for customers.

There were no injuries and the fire was quickly contained.

Officials say the cause of the fire is still under investigation.

Warren Volunteer Fire Department responded to the scene.

We'll bring you the latest details as they become available.
