It may only happen once ever 50 or so years, but the sight is striking!

Residents across the country are thrilling to see the two extraordinarily bright planets in the Southwestern skies this week.

Venus has been pulling closer and closer to Jupiter as the Crescent moon joins them Monday night.

The trio are closest on December 1st, but a low pressure system has brought clouds to the mid-Ohio valley and snow flurries that may obscure the view.

As the skies begin to clear for Tuesday evening, the crescent moon will be a bit larger and will have moved farther away from the two planets.

So it may be worth the attempt to brave the occasional showers tonight and sneak a peak at this extremely bright grouping of heavenly bodies in the SW skies.
