@mynamehere - whiners, eh? I guess it's too much to ask to breathe clean air and drink clean water. We should just keep our mouths shut and let these disgusting corporations do whatever as long as they provide some jobs in the area. Scientists suspect C8 is a carcinogen(= CAUSES CANCER). In case you haven't heard, the MOV has an unnaturally high cancer rate. The lawsuit is not seeking $ arbitrarily. It's about [1] protecting the people who live around the plant by forcing Dupont to cleanse the water and [2] determining - with scientific evidence - if C8 is harmful. But who really cares if other people getting sick and dying, right? As long as there are jobs! Don't you Dupont sympathizers have any social conscious?

You people are whiners. All of a sudden birth defects come into play and everyone wants to blame big business. Why? Beacuase they have lots of money and you dont.So you look for the easiest way in life to make money.Steal someone elses legally.Thats right, LAW SUITS are the American way. Why would someone go out of their way to get a job, that would be to easy, so lets just sue others. Also another recent American passtime, is moving our multimillion dollar business to someone elses country, so they can benefit from it more than the freeloaders. Keep that in mind when you falsify your "birth defect" in court just to make a buck.

I'm so fat I cain't see my feet. Why don't they make big toilets with big seats for big people? What does this have to do with C8 you ask...Well C8 reminds me of V8 the vegetable drink and that reminds me of food and that reminds me that I eat too much and that reminds me that I cain't see my feet. That depresses me so I am going to go eat twinkies and drink milk. I hate V8.

@resident - you obviously don't have a loved one who is inexplicably ill. If Dupont was truly "doing what they can", they would've been more diligent about their chemical waste in the first place. Dupont (and the others) are insidious giant corporations run by overpaid executives whose families don't live anywhere near here - they could care less about the people who live in this valley. They are only taking action now because they are being forced by a class action lawsuit! Do you truly believe we should move to escape the pollution? What is stopping another company in the next town from doing to the same? Should we then move from there also? Where do we go then? Your problem - and Dupont's - is greed. If you are worried about jobs and money, get an education. Then you wouldn't have to rely on a disgusting chemical plant to pay a professional wage for a high school diploma.

I believe Dupont is the cause of the area's sick people including myself. Anyone else know of a young person going blind that live in this area?

Do people not understand that Dupont is doing what they can to control the C-8 in the water. Dupont has already backed the filtration process. I think that is enough. People need to research C-8 and find out what other products it is in that has nothing to do with living near the Dupont plant, cook ware, muscle rubs, various plastic items, etc. This community doesn't seem to care that the way the economy is, if they keep on complaining more and more people are going to lose their jobs. Besides, you have a choice where you live, if you don't like what's in the area move. And what amazes me is to watch people who are so concerned about C-8 sit and puff their cigarettes, and drink their alcohol. Let's complain about that!

Oh OK I am going to listen to the PSD and Dupont as opposed to a federal agency that started looking at the public health effects of PFOA three years ago. A Federal agency does not step in and warn the public to not drink the water unless they are in possession of data that would support such a move. Hmmmm The Lubeck PSD has covered its butt since 2001 when all customers were required to sign a waiver informing them that C-8 was present in their drinking water BUT the Lubeck PSD was not liable, failure to sign this waiver resulted in disconnection or refusal of water service.Hmmmm All questions should be directed to Dupont..Seems they have been giving the same answers for over two decades Hmmmm And to all of those who will no doubt rant about Dupont being a major employer- Public health should NOT be ignored to preserve 2000 jobs in this valley since Dupont has had plans to outsource its Washington Works production for at least 20 years.

I would like someone OUTSIDE of DUPONT to test the water supply of the Lubeck Public Service District. I have Lubeck water and since Dupont is the cause of the C-8 problem, I want someone not paid by Dupon to test the water.

a definative link to health issues will never happen, therefore, this would be the time to error on the side of caution...for our children and grandchildren's sake

I would like to know why all of these studies and warnings were not done years ago at the onset of teflon/C8 production? How many adults and babies have been affected over the years??????
