More people are turning to pawn shops in this economy as a way to get some quick cash.
Steve Deem, the owner of Skeet Shaw Jewelry in Parkersburg says he's seen a more than 30 percent increase in people pawning items for cash.
He says he mostly deals with jewelry, but also sells guns and guitars.
"There's been an influx of people needing cash, but there's also been a lot of people buying too. I don't think that times are too bad, but I think there's a need for some immediate cash right now," said Deem.
Deem says he thinks more people are coming in to buy items because the prices are cheaper than buying items new.
