In this economy its more important than ever for residents to know about the resources available to lend a helping hand. The Ohio benefit bank program is making it easy for residents to figure that out.

From food stamps to prescription assistance, residents can log on to www.thebenefitbank.com to see which programs they may qualify for.

After completing the quick check, all you have to do is head into a local program center to meet with a counselor and get started.

Carrie McNamee, Washington-Morgan Community Action says: "You don't know what's out there and what you're eligible for. So come in, lets take a look. You certainly don't have to go any further. But lets get an idea of what you may be eligible for."

One local benefit bank center is located at the Washington-Morgan Community Action building on Putnam Street in Marietta.
