The initial reports said there was a five car pile-up on Route 60 just south of Lowell and the highway was shut down.

But the two cars involved was more than enough to cause major concern.

The crash sent five people to area hospitals.

Ohio Route 60 was blocked at Bear Creek Road during the evening rush hour for more than an hour.

Many driver had stopped to assist, causing the initial report of multiple vehicles involved.

The State Highway Patrol closed the highway as emergency personnel removed two people from the white station wagon that had been hauling a loose mower inside.

Another adult was removed from a suburban along with two small children, who had minor scrapes.

Though the accident remains under investigation, officers say it appeared one vehicle rear ended the other when it was stopped to turn onto Bear Creek Road.
