The Airolite Company, which manufactured window accessories on Marietta's East Side for more than 80 years, is the latest to begin a gradual closing process.
Greenheck Fan Corporation, the Wisconsin company which purchased Airolite in 2004, announced Wednesday it is closing the plant by early 2010.
Vice-President of Human Relations Jack Krueger says the plant's manufacturing operations were transferred to the parent company's Wisconsin home base over the past few years. Airolite now employs 25 people, most of them office staff.
Krueger says many of those employees are expected to be transferred to Wisconsin as well.
The transition is expected to be completed by next March.
Airolite was founded in 1919 and prior to 2004 manufactured grills and sun control products.
