Can You Feel It?
WTAP News
Officially...it's being called an earthquake. But some people felt it...and some didn't...and it only shook the Southern Ohio region for a few seconds.

Meteorite exploding....DITTO ! Steve you are so right They can and do explode , not to say that is what happened this time but you are right about them exploding.

Sorry but meteorites can and do explode while falling to earth. You wouldn't have a crater then would you and the debris would be scattered? Just look up the Tunguska incident in Siberia.

Sorry, but earthquakes CAN sound like a boom... or a rumble... or shaking... or swaying... or a deep groan... depending on where you are and how the waves travel. To suggest that a meteor had anything to do with it is crazy.... unless you have a crater and a meteorite to prove it!

I know this sounds crazy, but I think I felt it here. I live in a mobile home which is on blocks. I was doing laundry and anyone knows your home rocks a little on the spin cycle, but I remember thinking that was a lot more shake than normal. It was around that time. Maybe, maybe not, but weird regardless. And yes, I remember one 30 years ago (trying to remember how young I was). My grandmother and I ran out of her house in Devola thinking a vehicle had run into it. We later heard it was a minor quake.

A lot of people are reporting a boom. An earthquake does not make a boom. I see another post on another news site and a guy said he seen something fly over the ohio river at Point Pleasant and a few minutes later there was a boom. Meteorite perhaps.

The epicenter was actually in Gallia county. US Geological Survey changed it this afternoon.

Wow, an earthquake here?! Mother nature has had enough. She's on her way of wiping all of us out.
