The West Virginia Associated Press has honored WTAP-TV for it's excellence in broadcasting in 2008.
The WV AP held their annual awards banquet Saturday night in Charleston.
WTAP picked up the "Best Continuing Coverage" award for it's work on a fire in Waverly, WV in February 2008 that claimed the life of a Pennsboro woman.
Kim Lucey won "Best Feature" for her story on a Marietta man who tries to brighten everyone's day with a wave and smile.
WTAP also took third place for "Best Sports Special."
