A Parkersburg couple has been charged with Child Neglect, after police found their home covered in trash and infested with gnats.

Police have arrested Christopher and Rebecca Whited.

Christopher Whited is charged with Child Abuse for allegedly hitting his 5-year-old son in the face, causing bruising and swelling.

Both Christopher and Rebecca are charged with Child Neglect.

Christopher's bond is set at $30,000. He remains in the North Central Regional Jail.

Rebecca Whited has been released on a $10,000 bond.

All four of their children have been placed in the custody of the state.
