In Parkersburg Sunday 80 golfers competed in a tournament to support families and friends of the West Virginia National Guard 1092nd Engineer Battalion.

Staff Sergeant Cliff Hecker said this group is especially important for military families at this time because deployment is on their minds and the group provides activities and support for families.

Together with the golfers and sponsors, Hecker said the event raised about $2000.
