Jena, I have been a Libertarian for a while now (also registered republican so I can vote in the primary), and it is the most free way to be! I hope you will join!

Joseph..Thank you for responding to my comment. I WILL BE CHANGING from the Republican party to the Liberatatian one. I watch Fox News, CNN, HLN, and NBC. I listen to all sides, just not one. And They all are biased, one way or the other.

Jena I think you need to read my comment again because you don't get it.Never did I say I was an Obama supporter,I was just curious why you and others like you never stood up when Bush was flushing our country down the drain.I think Fox news is in control of your brain Jena.Jena you are correct about Bush,he did not want socialism he wanted a dictatorship(sounds like another great leader, can you say HITLER).If you really care about our country vote 3rd party,go Ron Paul!!

Listen people, reading all of these posts has made me realize how many people out there really just don't get it. America IS freedom, capitalism, values, virtue, and morality. It's how this country was designed. Look, to all the liberals and socialists out there, I do respect you because I believe that you really want to do good things and help as many people as you can, and that is very noble. But the FACT is that no system of government, social organization, or economy has yet to be discovered that can hold to candle to FREE market capitalism as far as providing the most good to the most people. As it is right now, this country is socialist and has been since FDR, so don't blame capitalism for people without things. Obama is a socialist and, guess what? Fiscally irresponsible George W. Bush was too. Every time I have a conversation with a liberal/socialist it always ends with them insulting me. Why? Because they cannot convince me that their ideas will actually work and they know it.

I attended a tea party rally here in TN and I can personally tell you it is NOT about Obama or Bush or whoever you care to blame this week. It is about over 200 years ago, a lot of good men fought and died for us to have freedom from overtaxation, from "politics as usual"....well I can go on. ..and for my money, I don't think our government, be it local, state or national is giving us our money's worth. While some nations....goggle Norway for example, are building a secure future for it's people, ours seems to only be making a certain portion of our population millionaires. How do we stop that? I don't know, but I believe if you get enough of our population thinking the same way, things can be done. We did it over 200 years ago....we can do it again. Let's make America great again!

I have to laugh as all the Obama worshipers and “teabagger” name callers. These are the same people who wonder why the area they live in is still a toilet. With these narrow-minded hateful mindsets, you’ll never be anything backwater with your democrat politician taxes. And Joseph, “I soon realized this event was an Obama bash,” Ummm, Obama=Taxes…anti-taxes must be anti-Obama, duh. And Alex, “we will make another decision in 2012,” not bloody likely. Your vote means nothing with ACORN fixing all American elections from now on…with federal backing provided by Obama no less. At least Bush used a legal process to finalize an election that was at risk of being stolen from him, and not faking election returns. “It is enough that the people know there was an election. The people who cast the votes decide nothing. The people who count the votes decide everything.” –Joseph Stalin

Zappa is right - for the most part. There has been a Bush in the White House for 20 of the last 28 years. Jeb ran Florida, Jr- Texas. Reagan goverened California before becoming pres. How about the Kennedy family? Byrd - 50 years in WV - Rockefeller - over 40 in WV. Clintons for 8 and now Hillary is SOS. Bill was Arkansas gov first. Many of the Obama cabinets are DC insiders and former Clintonites. Many of the Bush 41 and 43 cabinet were Reaganites. I thought that one of the main reasons we left England was to leave the ruling parties behind? What we have is much the same. For more than 60 years this country has been ruled by the same group of cronies and the American sheeple/lemmings continue to put them back in office. Things will only change when the polls make them change. The same dull, old, boring, broken ideas need taken off the shelf and burned. Whining at a tea party isn't going to get us there and neither is throwing stones at one another. GenX

That is stupid to say the problems we are facing is " all George given" that is crap and stupid to make a general comment like that,it is opinoated and not founded. George sure had his share of blunders, but he is not responsible for all of the problems. We have had corrupt and poor managed policies for years. I did not approve of going into Iraq , but we were not attacked by terrosists anymore.Congress is as guilty as the president. I was not an Obama supporter but I am willing to give him a chance and I hope he succeeds. This whole bailout/stimulus package may not succeed,it will take time for us to see the end result.

I had to laugh when I heard the Tea Party request restraint in making posters that were family friendly. That's another way of saying "We want to get on Television and not drive people away with a looneytoons slogan."

Right on Alex and Joseph.I agree 100 percent. You both said exactly as I feel, and others feel as well....Give the guy a chance!!! Our problems are all George given!!

Joseph, Bush was not the only one who got us in this jam, this has been been in the makings for years. Congress needs to share a lot of the blame. A lot of loans were made during to people during the Clinton years that allowed people to borrow more than they could actually afford. The goverment has been spending out of control for decades.Republicans and Democrats in goverment can both share the blame. Look how many trillions Obama has spent since taking office. There needs to be legislation passed that will force the goverment to start paying off the debt and no be allowed to go in debt unless during a war. Our financial system is a paper tiger or house of cards,we are not out of this mess yet and we may crash hard, the worse may not be over yet, there are still banks failing and China has more cash in the bank then any country in the world, the US should have the most cash in the world but we have the most debt in the world.

The Tea parties and the tea baggers who attend them are nothing more than people who are anti Obama, period! They can say they are anti-tax or that they are non-partisan, but that is a lie. All they do is bash the current administration with no admission that the previous administration started us down the road we are now traveling. I challenge you to attend one of these rallies and see if you hear any ideas or proposals to help correct the current problems. A dollar will get you 20 that all you hear is a bunch of complaints. You will also not much brotherly love or acceptance from these people who are claiming to be “preserving” God!

To Joseph, Put Your Head Back In The Sand. If You Don't Get "IT", You Never Will. What Part Of Socialisim Don't You Understand? Bush May Have Been Wrong On A LOT, But He Didn't Try To Turn This Country Into A Socialist One.

Today was our Country's birthay! Non-Partisan, God, Family Values, and our Constitution! Maybe America will wake up soon and see that we cannot afford the money our Government has spent. Will it take Five Dollar per gallon gasoline? How about 76 Percent rise in natural gas? 90 percent on electricity? What happens when Cap and Trade passes? What happens when we are arrested for reading a Bible? Citizens need to be educated! Corruption has taken over our Government, and not just Obama! Think of the younger generation! Will they be able to reverse the wrongs that have been done? If we do nothing, can we live in socialism, facism, or communism? Is this the legacy we want to leave our children and grandchildren?

Ms Staats said: "Organizer of the Parkersburg Tea Party, Sandy Staats, said the group rallied Saturday to preserve family values, the U.S. Constitution, and God in the United States." I thought these things were about taxes. Yet, taxes were not even named as a reason for the rally. How will Staats preserve God? What the heck does that mean?
