As the battle for a state budget continues in Columbus Governor Ted Strickland's approval rating is slipping.
That's according to new numbers released Friday by the Quinnipiac University Polling Institute.
The survey says Strickland has a 46% job approval rating, down from 57 % in early May.
That's his lowest rating since February 2007.
The same poll finds that about half of all Ohioans give the Governor failing marks on his handling of the economy and the state budget.
The new budget was set to take effect July 1st, but since no agreement was reached among Ohio legislators, the state now is operating on an interim budget.
