Do you think the air in the Mid-Ohio Valley is better than it used to be? The EPA thinks it is.

The US Environmental Protection Agency has announced that the Parkersburg-Marietta metro area is now meeting the national outdoor smog standard.

They propose re-designating Washington County as meeting the national ambient air quality standard.

But nothing will be done until after a period of public comment.

If you would like to react to their proposal, email to Mooney.John@epa.gov or go to www.Regulation.Gov and follow instructions for submitting comments.

The next meeting of the Neighbors for Clean Air will be Thursday night at the First Presbyterian Church in Marietta.
