A migrant worker accused of stabbing two men last Monday is behind bars Tuesday.
30-year-old Jose Antonio Ortiz is accused of stabbing two men after a fight at the Sandy Creek Trailer Park in Ravenswood over a week ago.
Police say he fled after the incident.
Lt. AJ Boggs with the Jackson County Sheriff's Office says Ortiz was captured on Saturday at the LaCava home in Ravenswood, thanks to a tip.
The LaCava family houses migrant workers in a garage addition.
Lt. Boggs says both the Ravenswood Police and the sheriff's department used their tracking dogs to apprehend Ortiz, who tried to escape when authorities arrived.
He's charged with two felony counts of malicious wounding.
Ortiz is behind bars at the South Central Regional Jail in lieu of a $70,000 bond.
