The mid-Ohio Valley pays tribute to 75 Cuban political prisoners jailed for speaking out for democracy.

About 250 Valley residents came to Washington State Community College to hear about the plight of the prisoners.

They lit candles in their honor. Also on display is a quilt with the names of all 75 prisoners. It was made last year in Boston and is already making an impact.

"You have no idea because they're told they're alone in the world, and what their doing doesn't make sense, nobody cares. I'm telling them the opposite, people do care", said Laida Carro, president of the coalition of Cuban-American women.

The next stop for the quilt is Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. Then it will be on display at Harvard before beginning a tour of Europe.
