Police say he stole a car to take a joyride, but as of Friday night, he's sitting still in jail.

25-year-old Shaun Griffin of Marietta is facing a felony charge of automobile theft.

Marietta police say Griffin stole a silver Porsche to take his girlfriend on a joyride.

Police say they recovered the car near North Hills Lanes. Police say when Griffin went back to car for another ride, he saw it was gone and threw the car's keys into the woods.

They say Griffin refused to answer any questions when arrested..

He remains in the Washington County Jail without bond.

Officers also believe Griffin is involved in the burglaries and theft of items from other vehicles in the Oak Grove area.

The investigation is still ongoing.
