17-Year Old Shooting Victim Released From Hospital
The 17-year old girl who authorities say was shot by her own father is home from the hospital Tuesday.

The 17-year old girl who authorities say was shot by her own father is home from the hospital Tuesday.

The shooting reportedly happened around 11:15 Saturday night at a house on Bashan Road near Long Bottom in Meigs County.

Officials with the Meigs County Sheriff's Department say 33-year-old Joe Lemaster shot his daughter in the back of the head as she was fleeing in a family car.

The teen went to a relative's home and was then flown to a Huntington hospital.

Lemaster was arrested Sunday morning in the woods near his home.

He is behind bars in lieu of a $500,000 bond at the Meigs County Jail Tuesday night.

A 17-year-old remains in the hospital, and her father behind bars after a shooting in Meigs county over the weekend.

The shooting happened around 11:15 Saturday night at a house on Bashan Road near Long Bottom according to our sister station WSAZ.

Officials with the Meigs county sheriff's department say 33-year-old Joe Lemaster shot his daughter in the back of the head as she was fleeing in a family car.

The teen went to a relatives home and then was flown to a Huntington hospital. No word on her condition at this time.

Lemaster was arrested Sunday morning in the woods near his home. He is being charged with attempted murder.
