It may be mid-fall...but the early learning center at West Virginia University at Parkersburg Tuesday was "blooming" with flowers.

They were floral arrangements created by children, their parents and friends...in celebration of "Take a Flower to Childcare Day".

The statewide celebration began last year...to celebrate the importance of early childhood education and providers.

WVU-P students work at the child care facility, earning degrees in early childhood education and general education.

The observance is sponsored by the West Virginia "Kids Count" fund.
