Many local pharmacies are out of seasonal flu shots, but some pharmacies are still planning to administer the shots this week.
Pharmacists at CVS in Belpre say they will not be having any more seasonal flu shot clinics because of a national shortage of the seasonal flu vaccines.
Kroger pharmacies in Wood and Washington counties are also out of seasonal flu shots.
Pharmacists at Fruth in Belpre say their seasonal flu vaccine clinic has been canceled because of the shortage.
However the Fruth pharmacies in Mineral Wells and Ripley are waiting to see if they could be receiving more.
"So we have been trying to tell patients to call around to other pharmacies, the health department, physicians care, and also their own physicians, "said Thuy McKitrick, a Pharmacist with Fruth Pharmacy in Belpre.
On Thursday the Vienna Walmart will have a flu shot clinic from 11AM until 3PM. The cost is $28 dollars.
The Kmart in Vienna is holding a clinic Friday from 9AM until 1PM
The Parkersburg Kmart is also offering seasonal flu shots Friday, but they will be giving the shots in the afternoon from 3PM until 7PM. Pharmacists say they don't know how many doses they will have.
The cost is $25 dollars and they do accept insurance.
