Monday the Parkersburg Rotary Club announced the six organizations that received about 20,000 dollars in grant money.

The grant money was raised from the Sour Mash Golf Tournament.

The Parkersburg Day Nursery, American Red Cross, Actors Guild of Parkersburg, Mid-Ohio Valley Fellowship Home, Literacy Volunteer of the Mid-Ohio Valley and the Family Crisis Intervention Center received the money.

Richard Hartman with the United States Census for 2010 also spoke with the group about partnering up with the census at the meeting.

Hartman said that in two weeks they will be recruiting 900 workers from across the state to work for the 2010 census.

"The census data that we collect is vital to the community. It brings money into your community," said Hartman.
