Eramet will pay the Ohio EPA thousands of dollars, after the company allegedly violated state and federal requirements.
According to officials with the Ohio EPA, Eramet will shell out $30,000 after violating accidental release prevention program requirements.
They say the requirements are to prevent accidental releases of toxic chemicals to the air and lessen the consequences of releases that do occur.
During an audit in September 2007, Ohio EPA noted 12 violations of the accidental release prevention program rules.
