Even on a day like Saturday, a lot of people like to go out for a run.
But a Marietta College student was running for more than just fun.
It's for a condition millions of people have...but one which isn't a popular condition to raise money...or awareness for.
Jeremy Jusek is a fifth-year student at Marietta College. But he's warming up for more than just a run around campus, or, for that matter, around Marietta.
He was getting ready for what he planned was a run of several miles. And he was hoping to draw attention to a condition a member of his own family suffers from.
"A lot of people do things for bodily conditions...MS and Cancer...and that's needed," Jeremy says. "But I think more people should be talking about things like bipolar, depression and schizophrenia."
Bipolar refers to bipolar disorder, also characterized as severe mood swings. he raised money for every mile he ran...and, to his delight, he was able to get support from the community.
"I got more support than I thought I would have, just going around and asking people and local businesses. I was surprised how much people were willing to give."
What money Jeremy raised will go to the Depression and Bipolar Support Alliance.
