A local police chief got a special send off from area law enforcement agencies.

Parkersburg Police Chief Gerald Board is stepping down from his position Friday.

Today, at Jimmy Colombo's in Parkersburg, Board's colleagues from area departments took time out to thank and remember Board's service to the city of Parkersburg.

Members of the Washington County Sheriff's Department, Wood County Sheriff's Department, Parkersburg Police, Parkersburg Fire Department, the Vienna Police Department and the West Virginia State Police were all in attendance for the lunch.

Chief Board said he was thankful to have the agencies help throughout the years.

"I feel that anytime I need anything I could call...everybody has been great to me. I have a lot to be thankful for, " said Board.

Chief Board was a 31 year member of the Parkersburg Police Department.
