The Mid-Ohio Valley Continuum of Care put together the first ever Reality Walk through Parkersburg.
The walk was designed to show where and how the homeless population lives.
A former homeless teen Katrina Nelson told her story to the crowd and she was happy to shine a light on the problem.
Nelson said she was homeless about a year ago in Parkersburg and was on the streets for about nine months with her mother after her father passed away.
"The way I felt when I was living out on the streets was unwanted and like none cared, and that's the way a lot of them feel, " said Nelson.
Nelson has a job now and is back on her feet.
More than 250 people came out for the Reality Walk and also brought more than 200 donations to give to the Parkersburg homeless community.
