Thursday afternoon the I-77 Williamstown Welcome Center's parking lot was pretty much empty.

Ronald Hamilton of Marietta took a short drive into the rest stop to cool down from his big Thanksgiving meal.

Hamilton said he was surprised on how low the number of drivers there were on the roads, but he is expecting to see more in the coming days.

"Traffic seems to be light today (Thursday), but I imagine tomorrow and over the weekend it will be heavy, " said Hamilton.

AAA estimates some 33 point 2 million Americans will hit the road this holiday.
