If you've travelled the highways on this or other holiday weekends, you may have seen the signs on the interstates...the ones right before the rest stops.

They say..."Safety Break, Free Coffee".

Those coffee stands are manned by volunteers, usually representing a non-profit group.

This weekend, the Marietta Amateur Radio Club is at the Washington County rest stop on Interstate 77.

And while Saturday was busy, Sunday was another story.

"Traffic was two, three times as many people coming through as it is today," said club member and volunteer David Mays.

While the beverages, which include coffee and soft drinks, are free, the club is taking voluntary donations.

Their booth is located at the rest stop north of Marietta throughout the holiday weekend.
