The first of three holiday weekends from now to the end of the year is just about over.
And lots of people Sunday were taking to the highways for that return trip home.
Travel centers in both West Virginia and Ohio were busy with folks checking out directions...and, of course, making that necessary rest stop.
And one of them was a visitor to the Mid-Ohio valley this past week.
"My mother lives in Williamstown," said Ron Marchetti of Windsor, Connecticut. "I took her to Connecticut for the holiday, I drove her back and we went to church this morning, and now I'm going back to my house."
"(The traffic has been) fair, about medium, not too fast and not too slow," said Chuck Westfall of Wickliffe, Ohio.
The south, in fact, appeared to be the destination of choice...according to workers at the Williamstown rest stop.
Travelers, they said, visited family members in that part of the country.
