Officials with the Washington County Board of Elections were busy Monday morning recounting two races.
Macksburg Village Council and the Warren Local Board of Education both had to be recounted by hand, and both came back without any changes.
Director of the Washington County Board of Elections, Peggy Byers, said they had to recount these races because they were both very close.
Byers also adds the system used for the voting process has been proven to be very accurate.
"We have a ballot for every single vote so we don't expect to see any differences. The only time we would get into any trouble at all would be if someone uses a check mark instead of filling in the oval in the ballot, "said Byers.
Byers adds that Tuesday, Ohio Secretary of State Jennifer Brunner will be speaking to the public at Washington State Community College from 12:30pm until 2pm, and also at a women's forum at the college at 7:30 pm.
